Desire


Desire is critical to success, but what does it mean? It would be nice, I really need, I’d like, I have a longing, craving, yearning. Desire like all words has a semantic content and so it has different meanings to different people. Desire is a word that has an emotive content and the synthesis of success from desire will come from a wanting that has both physical and mental properties.

Its amazing what we can do through desire, it can help us look after and protect our children / loved ones. It can help even the hopeless cook prepare a great meal. When we really want to accomplish something it can help us all the way.

So why is having a desire to earn money, not sufficient to conjure up the idea of what to do and how to be successful at making money? The desire is what makes you cling to the idea of what you believe in and it will give you the sincerity that would influence even the most intractable opposition.

The biggest problem with desire is that we are naturally configured to desire what we want. This may seem strange, but it is the reason why so many people fail at achieving what they need to do to make themselves successful.

It is because they spend all their attention on what they desire, which is the end result rather than what they need to do in order to create the result they desire. The problem again is that there are a lot of people who will sell you what you desire, they’ll sell you what you want rather than what you need.

Its easy to sell people what they want and for a short time it will be very profitable, but like all dreams they come to an end and everyone is left deflated.

Then most people either give up or run to another dream, they know the problems with the last dream and now are prepared because this time they have found the dream they want. All the time, ignoring what will really take them to achieve what they need to succeed.

This is the thing you really cannot do
This is the thing you hate doing
This is the thing that you put off and put off
How do I know you have not done it?
Because, if you have not done it you can’t complete it.

You need to desire what you need and not what you want.

If what you want is money, then you will not get it by dreaming and desiring the things money will buy you.
Thinking through success is not about thinking about the results but about thinking through how you will get the results and to do that you will need a way to earn money.
There really is only two ways to make money, and what’s more it’s easy and every one can do it, from the very young to the very old

Sell a product or provide a service. That’s it

Forget everything else;
Ignore the hype, that’s for idiots – even bankers and stock brokers get caught up in hype and lose billions of pounds over night and cripple economies.
Ignore the secrets – what secrets?
The secret is desire, we desire and pay for what we want, a fantastic secret that can get us whatever we want, the magic formula that will make us rich.

Who really gets rich from these systems other than the people who own them and for how long before they crash?

You need to forget about systems and start making plans.
Your own plans.

You need a solid product or service, not a fad, or a whim, what you need is a business, either work for somebody else’s business or your own, but you need to provide a product or a service, that has substance and people need.

Supermarket
Banks
Hair Dressing
Mobile Phones
Clothes Shops (mainly women’s)
Café / Coffee Shop / Bookshop
Music / DVD / Computers / Electrical
Fast Food / Restaurants
Cinema

You see the same shops over and over again and often you will get four or five shops the same all next door to each other and all making profit. These companies are now growing on the internet all of them making vast profits, ferrying these products and services to peoples homes.

What do they all have in common?

They are all business and they are all about business and they were all borne from the desire to provide products and services to conduct business and grew from plans to make business.

The first step in business is the idea and you may feel that the only way to make vast profits is to be original, but really what original business is not catered for on your high street.

The fact is that what makes a business popular is not its original thought but its unique thought. The part about you that makes your business idea so unique and fits in with the social and psychological needs of your community and time frame.

You first need the DESIRE to provide a product or service
Something that is unique to you, something you can put your stamp on and make yours.
